River Wye (March 2006)...........PBCC goes canoe sledging

The river Wye was very low when we turned up for our beginners trip around Hye on Wye. There was no lack of water it was just in the wrong form......... i.e. SNOW.

Hence the decision was made to try out some canoe sledging down the local slope at Hays Bluff. Needless to say there were some raised eybrows from the locals as we turned up and unloaded the canoes.......!

We then spent the next 2 hours hauling our canoes up and then flying down the hill. We were lucky to escape with no injuries. You soon pick up speed and if you turn sideways you're in trouble......... as some found out.......
