Lower River Wye (31st Mar -1st Apr 2007)

The river Wye runs for quite some distance from mid Wales down to the Bristol channel.

There are lots of sections that can be run. This time we did some of the calmer sections around Glasbury and Hay on Wye, all grade 1 or 2. This was an ideal trip for the less experienced paddlers in the club to learn some moving water skills.

The weather was good throughout the weekend, but we had to contend with a fairly stiff easterly breeze for most sections ofthe paddle. The bunkhouse was OK apart from some food disappearing in the night when the other guests returned...!.

Below are a selection of pictures & videos highlighting the fun...!

The river was and ideal spot to experience rolling in cold water :

A fine demonstration from Hugh

This time round Adrian succeeds rolling the big one... here
