White Water Kayaks
These white water kayaks are available for members to hire for a small fee. Unless indicated, they are suitable for taking on club white water trips. They are located in the specified containers or at the pool as indicated below.
The paddler weights are taken from manufacturers specifications where available, but please always make sure that you fit comfortably before taking the kayak on a trip! For example, a tall thin paddler may be within the weight range specified, but not be able to extend the foot rests sufficiently.

Jackson Zen (Medium) | Orange | Green container | 59 to 86 Kg | This is a Zen 1. The specification for the current model is here. Review of the medium (1.0?) with some specs.
Dagger GT | Green | Green container | 40 to 80 Kg | This is a few years old. Current specification is here. It is relatively low volume and has a slicey tail - should be stable, but don't lean back in the chunky stuff.
Dagger Mamba MK1 (8.1) | Red | Green container | 68 to 100 kg | There are three sizes, which refer to the length in feet and inches. See here for details of sizes and paddler weights. No longer in production. The stability of the Mamba is more progressive than the B:TWO
Dagger Mamba MK1 (8.1) | Blue | Orange container | 68 to 100 kg | Previously belonged to John Richards. Needs new or repaired seat, and even then should only be used in the pool. There are three sizes, which refer to the length in feet and inches. See here for details of sizes and paddler weights. No longer in production. The stability of the Mamba is more progressive than the B:TWO
Dagger RPM | Blue / purple | Green container | 45 to 70 Kg | RPM is the acronym for Radical Play Machine! But many smaller club members have used it as a beginners boat. Also a good surfing boat. These reviews show that it has many advocates.
Pyranha Z.ONE (Small) | Blue | Green container | 45 to 85 Kg | Current specification
Pyranha Burn MK2 (Large) | Yellow / orange | Green container | 75 to 125 Kg | This boat has been discontinued by Pyranaha (replaced with the B:TWO), but see this review.
Pyranha Burn MK1 (Large) | Orange / white | Green container | 75 to 125 Kg | This boat has been discontinued by Pyranaha (replaced with the B:TWO).
Pyranha B:TWO (Small) | Yellow / orange | Green container | 45 to 95 Kg | Specification here. The manufacturer says: "Smooth planing, performance orientated hull and well distributed volume will give beginner and intermediate river paddlers a confidence inspiring introduction to whitewater." Not 100% sure if the small is this or the red one. (There will be an M or S engraved just behind the rear handle).
Pyranha B:TWO (Medium) | Red | Green container | 55 to 105 Kg | Specification here. The manufacturer says: "Smooth planing, performance orientated hull and well distributed volume will give beginner and intermediate river paddlers a confidence inspiring introduction to whitewater." Not 100% sure if the medium is this or the yellow/orange one. (There will be an M or S engraved just behind the rear handle).
Pyranha Mountain Bat 300 | Blue | Green container | 75 to 90 Kg | Owned by John Richards, but available for club members to use.

Wavesport Recon | Green / white | Orange container | 82 to 125 Kg | The different sizes relate to the volume in US gallons. This is the 93 and belongs to John Richards: Specification..
Liquid Logic Hoss | Red | Orange container | 60 to 109 Kg | Less suitable for beginners. This review from 2011 is interesting..
Palm Aquabat | Translucent | Pool | 45 to 75 Kg | There are 5 of these boats which will suit small to medium paddlers. Not suitable for white water rivers and should only be used in the pool. See discussion here.
Pyranha Rotobat | 2 x red, 3 x yellow, 3 x blue, 1 x maroon, 1 x pink | Pool | 45 to 90 Kg | There are 9 of these boats which will suit small to medium paddlers. Production ceased in 1998, so these are old and not suitable for white water rivers and should only be used in the pool. Leg size can be a limiting factor for getting into these boats. The two red ones have a larger seat
Jackson Super Fun | Red | Pool | 86 to 141 Kg | Specifications for 2007 models here. Suitable for taking on a WW trip by an experienced paddler.
Jackson Karma (Medium) | Orange | Pool | 75 to 100 Kg | Has been repaired and is no longer suitable for white water. Specifications.

The hybrid Approach series easily takes charge of the elements for faster moving currents and rapids, while also being a solid performer on nearly any flatwater.
Liquid Logic Crossriver 80 | White | Pool | ?? | I can't find any reference to this kayak online. Is the name correct?

Pyranha S:6 | Blue | Pool | 75 to 85 Kg | River play boat. Suitable for taking on a WW trip. Don't know which model, so paddler weight is for the person who used to paddle it. Belonged to John's son.
Perception Super Sonic | Orange/yellow | Pool | to 115 Kg | It rolls easily and is quite short and with reasonable volume - has great knee grips. The plastic is unusual, harder compared to the materials for these days and quite durable. Details in the Perception 2008 whitewater brochure.
